Objective: An in-depth analysis of selected empirical, practical and theoretical topics in clinical psychology. Understanding Schizophrenia Via “Blue Horse Café”* course specifically aims; To live together with schizophrenia patients and families in an environment that is apart from a psychiatry clinic and observe their daily routine To understand the inner world of the patients with schizophrenia To understand schizophrenia patients’ and their families’ needs and difficulties To learn symptoms and signs of schizophrenia To learn basic elements of treatment of schizophrenia To learn basic concepts of rehabilitation of schizophrenia To learn stigma and discrimination because of schizophrenia and programmes against to stigma *: Blue Horse Cafe has been founded on June 5, 2009 by the Federation of Schizophrenia Associations in Ankara,Turkey. Primary goal of Blue Horse Cafe, is to provide work Opportuniy for schizophrenia patients, and through this path, to strengthen their self-esteem, functionality, life quality quality of life and to contribute to their target in becoming part of the society. Secondary goal of Blue Horse Cafe, is, for individuals consisting the society, to receive services from schizophrenia patients and through their social contact, to create opportunity for them to change their negative prejudice and attitude towards such patients.
Content: Schizophrenia including field study with families of schizophrenic patients, research on cognition-emotion, field applications of health psychology and community based mental health
